What’sYour Sign?

There was a strip mall owner that had three spaces for lease. A business owner approached him one day and said, “I would like to lease the space on the left.” The strip mall owner said, “That will be fine. What would you like on your sign?” The business owner said, “I sell men’s clothing, so the sign should read: Men’s Wear.”

A couple of days later, another business owner approached him and said, “I would like to lease the space on the right.” The strip mall owner said, “That will be fine. What would you like on your sign?” The business owner said, “I sell men’s clothing, so the sign should read: Men’s Wear.” The strip mall owner then said, “I don’t think that will be wise. Can’t you see that my tenant on the left has that on his sign?” The business owner then replied, “It doesn’t matter. That’s what I want on my sign!” The strip mall owner saw that he was not going to change his mind and had the sign printed.

Finally, a few days later, a third businessman approached the strip mall owner and desired to lease the space in the middle. After finding out that he also sold men’s clothing, the strip mall owner reluctantly asked him what he wanted on his sign. The third businessman looked at the sign on the left, then he took a look at the sign on the right and turned to the strip mall owner and said, “Simply put the word “Entrance” on my sign!”

Remember, it’s not what you know, who you know, or what you do that will determine the level of your success, but rather how you present yourself that can make all the difference in the world. According to Psalm 139:14 – You are Uniquely andWonderfully made by God, so why not show it!
